Whether you’re a service user, family member, Care Manager or prospective employee – these pageswill tell you more about Omega Elifar where we are located, who we support and how to join us.
‘What could we do better?’
“Nothing… we love all that you do!”
Service User Parent
If you are over 18 years of age, are diagnosed with a learning disability and require long‐term residential support – we may be able to support you.
We generally provide one member of staff for every two service users, but can agree the provision of 1:1 and 2:1 support as required with your Funding Authority.
“the level of staffing is fantastic”
If you require any specialist equipment or intervention from other healthcare professionals, we will support you to access the necessary referrals (eg overhead hoist, occupational therapy, chiropody, speech and language therapy, physiotherapy) although advise that additional costs may be incurred.
Our staff team believe in promoting your independence and developing your skills and abilities – supporting you to use services within the local community. Your personal hobbies and preferences are also incredibly important to us, and we will always try to provide you with accommodation within a social peer group whom have similar interests.
So, whether you like watching films; playing football; disco dancing or afternoon tea; whether you are currently living with family, in children’s services, another adult care home, staying in hospital or an emergency placement – if your needs are compatible with others – we can arrange a detailed assessment visit for you.
“the home offers excellent choices and activities which suit my son”
If you choose to, you can bring your own furniture and belongings to decorate your bedroom – however, pets are not allowed and we have a strict no smoking policy.
Once you are living in an Omega Elifar home, you will be given the opportunity to participate in meetings to choose your menus and activities; have access to on‐site transport and all the encouragement and support you need, to live the life you want!
Our Care Homes
Our homes are situated within villages and small towns, nestling in the picturesque countryside of the Hampshire, Surrey and West Sussex borders.
We enjoy easy access to the major A3 London‐Portsmouth link road, with the capital city just an hour’s drive away. Locations such as Guildford, Aldershot, Basingstoke and Portsmouth are within a 30‐mile radius.
Our surrounding communities offer a range of facilities for service users to enjoy; such as swimming, bowling, ice‐skating, cinemas, libraries and theatres. Further Education opportunities for adults with learning disabilities can be accessed from a variety of local Colleges, Day Centres and training providers.
Admission to the services within Omega Elifar is dependent upon a detailed individual needs assessment.
Following referral (generally via a Care Manager) and identification of a potentially suitable vacancy, two suitably experienced Company representatives will undertake a comprehensive assessment visit ‐ this includes interview/visits with the individual, their family, and their current support team.
We will provide an individualised and detailed costing matrix to the Care Manager – to include all accommodation and staffing costs, together with proposed fees for any 1:1 or 2:1 staffing needs; day care activities and any other specific requirements.
A great deal of effort goes into ensuring that needs, likes and dislikes are matched for each person and we generally support a variety of day, night and weekend visits prior to admission to ensure that the home chosen is best suited to the needs of the individual.
Following one and three monthly reviews, and in agreement with the service user and the relevant funding authorities, a formal decision will be given on whether a permanent placement can be offered.
In addition to our Equal Opportunities in Employment Policy, Omega Elifar commits to ensure that all current, and prospective service users, are accorded equal care, opportunities, respect and value.
We take our moral responsibility very seriously to ensure that no kind of direct or indirect discrimination occurs to any service user, or their family, on the basis of ethnic or national origin, colour, creed or sexual orientation.
