About Us

Omega Elifar is based on the Hampshire/Surrey border and runs a number of homes in the local area. Omega Elifar is a registered provider of full-time support to people who have severe learning disabilities.

The original company was set up in the 1970s by Hilary Marsden. At the time she was a Registered General Nurse with a young family and was horrified at the conditions she found in the nursing home where she worked.

Hilary went on to establish a group of nursing and residential care homes on the Hampshire/Surrey border that were renowned for providing quality lifetime care.

The work we do today owes its existence to the love and dedication of Hilary. She named the company Elifar...EVERY LIFE IS FOR A REASON

Hilary passed away in 2004 at the tragically early age of 53. However her legacy continues today in the form of Omega Elifar

Thanks to our caring and motivated staff team, Hilary's enthusiasm, inspiration and vision continues in the work we do today, enabling our Service Users to experience an improved quality of life.

We are fortunate to enjoy longevity of staff service; third-party advertising is therefore rarely required due to our positive reputation and personal recommendations from our current staff.

Omega Elifar operates on a high level of staff to service user ratio, based upon the assessed needs of individual Service Users. Use of organised staffing rotas ensure suitably skilled members of staff are on duty in all our care homes 24/7.

    The Things We Believe In

We have a set of core values that we believe in passionately when supporting our Service Users and their families

    Individuality and Respect

We accept that each individual is unique in character and our working practices will promote individuality and will not categorize people under broad headings. Consideration and regard for the individual will be given unconditionally in our actions. Treating people with respect and valuing them as individuals helps to develop good feelings about themselves.

    Participation

The use of community facilities is paramount and by interacting within the local community the individual can become accepted and make new friends.

    Reciprocity

We will not expect individuals to change for the service if we do not show that we are prepared to change for them.

    Safety

We aim to provide a real sense of safety in Omega Elifar by enabling the people who live in our homes to make changes in their lives without fear of losing their home, family, friends, individuality or self‐esteem.

    Choice and Empowerment

We believe in informed and meaningful individual choice. This guides our decision making involving the individual concerned. We aim to work alongside service users and empower them to live the life they wish to.

    Citizenship and Equality

We support an individual’s right to hold and express their own opinions, as well as supporting their access to privacy. All service users have the same rights as any other citizen, whatever their abilities.
